How to Pick the Right Ski Bindings?

Skis can be sold with or without the bindings. Skis sold with the bindings are referred to as "integrated". Unlike a traditional binding ("flat") that needs to be drilled into the ski, an integrated binding is built and shipped on the ski. Integrated bindings allow for a smoother flex requiring less effort.

If you are replacing your current binding or shopping for a flat ski, you will need to determine what kind of binding you might need. Pelican's experienced sales staff can help guide you to what is appropriate for your needs.

Some things you need to consider

Skier ability, age, weight, gender, types of terrain and conditions you normally ski.


Understanding your DIN, or Release Setting

Staying in the binding is just as important as when the binding should release. Technicians will determine your DIN by Age, Weight, Gender, Skier Type and Boot Sole Length. It is Very IMPORTANT that you are honest with this information. The typical determination of Skier Type Chart will look like this:
